I might be late but…

I finally tried the beauty blender!

I know you’ve probably already read various reviews on the sponge but I honestly always love applying my foundation with a makeup brush…

I tend to be one of those people that say “if it aint broke, why fix it ?”. My foundation always blended perfectly into my skin and it is not as if I wear foundation on a daily basis to begin… Nevertheless, I went to the hair salon and saw them and just had to purchase it…

I will admit that I am impressed ! This sponge just makes my skin look perfect… and not the “foundation type perfect” but the ” I just rolled out of bed and I look this amazing perfect”. It’s just effortlessly flawless…

Beauty Blender

Of course I was not satisfied with just one beauty blender so I had to go ahead and purchase the Shoppers Drug Mart “Quo Blending Sponge” so I would be able to compare it … First and foremost, the Quo is 5$CAN and the Beauty Blender is 26$CAN…

Quo Blending Sponge

Bottom Line:

The shape is different but they both work perfectly and equally and this is not even a joke… With the Quo Blending Sponge, you might need to use a little bit more foundation because it absorbs more than the Beauty Blender. Despite the fact that the sponges have different textures, they both deliver a flawless makeup application!

E.L.F Brushes Review

Hey beauty !

Nothing starts off the day on a wrong foot like applying your foundation and then noticing that so many bristles from your brush are now on your face…

Unless you are a professional makeup artist or you are truly passionate about makeup, many do not feel the need to invest in expensive makeup brushes, and this is completely understandable.

Nevertheless, I believe it is important to use a good makeup brush in order to maximize the results of your makeup application. There is absolutely no logic in buying a 55$ LancĂ´me foundation if you are planning on slathering it on your face with your bare fingers…

Very often, people will complain that a foundation I recommended is streaky and does not render the results they were expecting… This is to be expected when your are not applying it correctly and with the appropriate tools…

I agree that MAC or Sigma brushes can be very expensive and very few people feel comfortable splurging on them. This is why I decided to try out the oh-so- popular ELF brushes that have gone VIRAL on Youtube. I went on their online website (because I could not find a pharmacy in Montreal that held them) and ordered the elf Studio 11 Piece Brush Collection.

Along with the brushes, I ordered a brush holder, unaware that they came in a gorgeous black water-resistant case.

After a full month of using these brushes, I have to admit that I LOVE THEM…Worth every penny of my 30$ (which actually came down to 15$ because they were having a 50% off sale at the time).

Although I like all the brushes, I love the powder, complexion and concealer brushes… They really give a flawless finish and up to now, they do not shed. I have washed them twice and they dry quite quickly.

I have to admit that I have not really used they eye brushes because I have not been applying any eyeshadow or creating any new looks for the past month due to the fact that I was swarmed in school work and finals…

If you are on the search for affordable and effective makeup brushes, look no where else. ELF cosmetics is the way to go!

PS. I am in no way affiliated or sponsored by ELF cosmetics for this blog post :)
